What is Freedom Accelerator?
The Freedom Accelerator (72 Hour Challenge) is an affiliate marketing course created by Jonathan Montoya. In 2019, Jonathan Montoya was an electrical engineer that had tried different types of online businesses including Amazon FBA and had a negative bank balance of $1200. His family was living in a mice invested mobile home. However, he knew there was a better way to earn money online and desperately wanted to quit his 9 to 5 Job. He turned to affiliate marketing and is now a ‘guru’ in this space offering courses that explain how he built up his business and why it will continue to grow thru automation. Freedom Accelerator is the entry level course he offers about the affiliate marketing business. This is an honest review of the 72 Hour Challenge including the Pros/Cons of the course.
What is the 72 Hour Challenge?
The 72 Hour Challenge is an online course consisting of a series of three video presentations describing affiliate marketing and Jonathan Montoya’s approach to the business of affiliate marketing. There is also a private Facebook group. The videos don’t have to be watched on three separate days but is recommended due to information overload. The videos are between 45 minutes to 2 hours in length. The viewer can decide to watch all the information in one day or at leisure based on their schedule.
What Will You Learn and Experience?
The course is organized into 3 days (72 hour) with one video and assignments to complete per day. You can join the Facebook group on the first day.
Day 1 - The Freedom Road Map
The Day 1 video introduces the basics of affiliate marketing, how he started his business, the basic business model, and the importance of having multiple streams of income. Jonathan Montoya is passionate about helping people quit their jobs and share his system for building an online business. He is honest about the importance of building an email list for long-term success.
Day 2 - The Automated Sales System
There are three videos for this day. The first video is an overview of Affiliate programs and using a funnel system. The second video is a demonstration of ClickFunnels, and the third video is a demonstration of Systeme.io for funnels and using an autoresponder. During the videos, Jonathan Montoya is setting up a funnel and explaining the importance of using an email list to market different offers. However, these videos are a replay of a live presentation and during the video he is updating a checklist and at one point he has to start over. This disjointed presentation could be confusing for someone not familiar with how a funnel works or its purpose. For me, it would be better if the course was updated with a new video that was ‘smoother’ and easier to follow. Jonathan Montoya is an affiliate for both ClickFunnels and Systeme.io; and although it is good to show both methods, for a beginner this could be confusing. The best part of this ‘Day’ is that Jonathan Montoya does have a ready made funnel and lead magnet that his students can copy and use to start their business.
Day 3 - 3 Secret Traffic Methods for Fast Results
Day 3 is focused on getting traffic. Jonathan Montoya explains his Four Phases of Freedom and pitches the Freedom Accelerator Course – $1497. He teaches using short-form videos for TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts to jumpstart driving organic traffic. Jonathan then also explains that YouTube traffic will take your business to the next level, especially for passive income; and Paid Ads are a way to get instant results. He demonstrates how to find solo ad providers and the costs.
At the end of the 72 Hour Challenge there is also a link to other courses such as Get the 1000 TikTok Followers hack ($77).

Freedom Accelerator (72 Hour Challenge) is a legitimate course to introduce someone to affiliate marketing and gives the basic tools needed to start an affiliate marketing business. The Facebook group is very helpful for anyone who needs assistance. However, the disjointed presentation in Day 2 and providing two different presentations in relation to funnels could be confusing for a beginner. I didn’t purchase any of the other courses so you will need to decide if this investment is right for you. Another positive is that there is a range of courses at different price points to assist with growing an affiliate marketing business.
