The Mastery Institute (Misha Wilson): Review

What is The Mastery Institute?

The Mastery Institute is a 15-module online business course focusing on affiliate marketing created by Misha Wilson.  Misha Wilson is an online entrepreneur and affiliate marketer.  His personal journey includes being evicted twice and addicted to prescription medication.
He credits his current success to his mentors and mindset.  He’s created many online courses and is best
known for the Super Affiliate Network.

Course Overview

The Mastery Institute is a 15-module course divided into Three Phases.  I opted in via a Facebook ad and was assigned a ‘coach’ that contacted me via email to start me on the course. My coach ‘unlocked’ Phase 1: Modules 1 – 5.  Phase 1 includes a questionnaire from your coach, an explanation of online marketing as a business, the importance of mindset, and the differences between the mindsets of the poor vs the rich.  The mindset information was reminiscent of Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki. Module 5 is a sales pitch to purchase one of the Pro Membership options.

One  negative point for me early in the course was the inconsistent terminology.  My coach was also referred to as a sales advisor. The course was also referred to as the Super Affiliate Network and Profit Boosting Bootcamp.   Second, some of the modules were recordings of previous live events and the references weren’t in the same order as the current course. These two aspects were confusing, and I could envision someone new to affiliate marketing being confused.

Phase 1

Phase 1 focuses on affiliate marketing and advises starting with Information Products in the Health, Wealth, and Relationship niches; using a sales funnel and autoresponder; and the importance of building an email list.

At the end of Module 5, I replied to another questionnaire from my coach/sales advisor, and a call was scheduled.  However, after indicating I wasn’t going to buy the ‘Pro Membership’ he canceled our call. The Pro Membership options range between $300.00 – $3,000.00.  The coach/sales advisor did ‘unlock’ the rest of the modules.

Phase 2

Phase 2 is Modules 6 – 10.  The key points:

  • Importance of Mindset
  • Focus on Traffic, Conversion, Leverage
  • Free vs Paid Traffic strategy
  • Paid Traffic is the best way to scale your business quickly and  to secure long-term growth so it wasn’t surprising that I opted into the course via a Facebook Ad.
  • Focus on one paid traffic source and be consistent

There are several social media platforms that allow affiliate marketers and e-commerce businesses to build a business without using paid ads.  A beginner or someone on a budget should be encouraged to use free traffic strategies. Many successful affiliate marketers have courses on how to scale and grow a business using free strategies like TikTok and YouTube.

Phase 3

Phase 3 is Modules 11-15.  If you have already started as an affiliate marketer or have some knowledge of affiliate marketing, this Phase will be the most beneficial.  The key points:

  • Stages of growth of a business
  • Importance of having a  Sales Process
  • Sales Funnel Set-up and importance of Bridge Page
  • Creating / Offering Bonus Content to differentiate from competition
  • Importance of providing VALUE in the marketplace and establishing yourself as an Authority to maximize profits
  • Create own products to own the whole process and learn how to host webinars to maximize profits
  • Importance of Mentors to continually grow your business to the next level – this was used as an opportunity to encourage the purchase of Pro Membership or one of the Mentor options.

Verdict

Mastery Institute is not a course I would recommend.
This is also based on reviews on TrustPilot and other independent sources.

Pros

  • Affordable opt-in (Less than $40)
  • Emphasis on Mindset to be successful not only in affilate marketing but in life
  • Phase 3 has information that can be used for existing businesses.
  • Importance of Mentors to grow a business to the next level and that being a business owner also means continual education and networking.

Cons

  • Emphasis on Paid Ads without explaining alternatives, especially for beginners
  • Need to purchase higher membership levels to speak to a coach/business advisor and become part of the Facebook group
  •  Inconsistent terminology during       the course – Mastery Institute/Super Affiliate Network/Profit Boosting Bootcamp
  • Content in all three Phases encourages buying higher levels of membership
